Okay, you know how water-boarding is torture but kind-of a gray area of torture? Well, I have this idea about how to solve that little dilemma and it involves these phenomenal sticky buns.
First, you get a prisoner from whom you need information. And you get him really hungry. I’m not saying starve him, because that would be torture, but you just make him skip a few meals, do a lot of strenuous exercise, nothing beyond what millions of high school girls do every year just before prom.
Then, you put him in a kitchen and you start making these sticky buns. He gets to watch and smell everything. And just when they’re cool enough from the pan to safely eat, you place one before him, perhaps with a little pat of butter melting on the top, and explain he gets the bun if he can simply answer a few questions.
No way he balks. And, no need for any actual torture AND you get sticky buns.
These sticky buns are AMAZING! I love them so much. You use half of the MSBH recipe for Danish Dough and roll it out into a rectangle. Then it’s slathered with sour cream, brown sugar, cinnamon, and pecans.
This is all rolled up and the individual rolls are cut from the rolled log. Each of the cut rolls is placed in a prepped muffin cup – that’s brown sugar, butter, light corn syrup, and pecan halves in the bottom.
Then, they’re baked up and holy moly do you want to smell that.
Some of the caramel-y stuff from the bottom of the cups can spill over the side so be sure to put the muffin tin on a parchment-lined baking pan for easy clean up.
The rolls are immediately depanned by flipping over the muffin tin so that all that sticky caramel stuff and the pecans are now on top of the buns.
Oh, I could so get in trouble with these. They are unbelievably good. No way you’re keeping secrets with one of these up for grabs.
