Not a long post today, not a lot of photos. This is a really simple, basic recipe and the dry ingredients, creamed sugar/butter, mixing, pouring, leveling, all that stuff is pretty much the same as you’ve seen in dozens of recipes that have been featured before.
The crumb topping is a mix of flour, brown sugar, and butter (and some other stuff) that’s cut together and sprinkled on top before baking. All-in-all, this is a good sour cream coffee cake, no more, no less.
But this particular crumb cake is remarkable for one reason: it marks the last recipe I had to bake before completing the first chapter in the MSBH! Holy moly – I’ve baked every recipe in the “Simple Baked Goods” chapter. A milestone, for sure.
