This is the final variation of the Baking Powder Biscuit recipe. It’s pretty simple – the biscuits are baked, the heavy cream is whipped, the strawberries are macerated. And after all that you get this delightful dessert.
The major way in which these biscuits differ from the Baking Powder Biscuits is the addition of more sugar.
I would advise against baking these directly on the pan as the recipe instructs. They just got way too dark on the bottom. Otherwise, the biscuits taste great – like a light, buttery muffin.
The strawberries are sliced and they macerate a while in sugar and lemon juice.
And then it’s just a matter of assembling. The whipped cream is from a recipe in the MSBH for “Vanilla Whipped Cream” – sweetened with confectioner’s sugar and flavored with vanilla. Delicious!
